Short Form Vs Long Form of Russian Adjectives

Did you know that the short form of Russian adjectives is more used in poetry and songs and the long form is more used in everyday speech?

For example,

“Широка страна моя родная…” “My motherland is wide…”. It is a poetic text, so we use the short form.

У него широкий лоб: He has a wide forehead. This phrase belongs to our everyday speech, so we use te long form.
