Russian Verbs Used with the Preposition к

Did you know that some Russian verbs are always used with the preposition к and the Dative case? The most common are готовиться-подготовиться (to prepare for), привыкать-привыкнуть (to get used to smth). обращаться-обратиться (to address somebody), относиться-отнестить (to have an attitude to), стремиться (to aspire to)?

For example,

Я готовлюсь к важному экзамену. I am studying (preparing) for an important exam.

Саша привык к холодному климату. Sasha got used to cold climate.

Вам нужно обратиться к директору. You have to address the director.

Как ты относишься к этому политику? What do you think (what attitude do you have towards) about this politician?

К чему он стремится? What does he aspire to?
