Russian Unreal Conditionals with Imperative

Did you know that Russian unreal conditionals can be also formed with the 2nd person of a verb in the imperative mood? The second part of the sentence is still used with a verb in the past tense and the particle “бы”.

For example,

Будь я на твоём месте, я бы туда не пошёл. If I were you, I would not go there.

Приди он на полчаса раньше, он успел бы на концерт. If he had arrived half an hour earlier, he would have been in time for the concert.
