Endings of the Prepositional case in Russian

February 18, 2018 | Tags: Prepositional case in Russian Russian cases

Dear Russian learners! Did you know that Prepositional case is quite tricky and it can have both the -у (-ю) ending and the ending, depending on its meaning?

These are the nouns used with the у ending in the meaning of place:

But the same nouns can be used with the e ending in the meaning of “about”:

Об аде, об аэропорте, о береге, о бое, о боке, о борте, etc.
